Lonehollow is seeking college aged men and women who have a passion for working with children, want to challenge themselves with new experiences, and will share their enthusiasm for adventure with boys and girls 7 to 14 years old. As a camp "guide" (counselor), your days are filled with endless gratitude. There is nothing like seeing the smiling face of a child learn a new skill or experience a new activity.
Lonehollow believes these children are our future leaders. We need motivators, enthusiasts, creators and most of all individuals who want to make a difference in a child's life.
Most guides will live in a cabin with 9 or 10 campers, acting as their leader and their big brother/sister. Your role consists of making sure each camper is embracing the Lonehollow experience and having fun. Your ability to inter-act with children is your number one priority. Your actions should be uplifting and enthusiastic. In addition to cabin duty, you will teach or assist in camp activities. This is where your special gifts and talents give you the opportunity to reach your fullest potential - learning new skills or exposing hidden talents you didn't know you had!
On a daily basis, guides will participate in every part of camp, from working in the camp office to program and event planning and curriculum development. |
