General guide information
Guides are the backbone of the Lonehollow experience. Most live in cabins with campers. They teach activities, lead evening programs and are the ones who shape and impact the lives of the Lonehollow campers.

Activities
There are five activity periods each day. Depending on skill level, experience and other factors guides may teach a variety of activities. This all functions on a block schedule, with a Monday/Wednesday/Friday and a Tuesday/Thursday/Saturday set.

Dining
A definite highlight of the Lonehollow experience. The meals at Lonehollow are served family style, with a guide and camper setting the table prior to sitting down to eat with their cabin. In this setting Guides lay the foundations for appropriate manners. Campers are encouraged through their guides to try everything on the table and guides are expected to as well.

Salary and Benefits
All positions at Lonehollow are Paid. The pay scale is based on age, experience, previous camp history, certifications and whether or not you are a returning Lonehollow Guide. Once the summer sessions have started guides receive a time off schedule. This time off is regular and predicable and allows guides to plan out their time off. Nights and afternoons, as well as a few days between First and Second term. All lodging and meals are also included. Ask any previous guide and they will tell you about how nice the cabins are (air conditioned and great beds) and how amazing the food is. Of course the biggest benefit of being a guide is knowing that you have made an impact on hundreds of campers from all over the world.
